Shine On Event Celebrates History And Supporters

Shine On Event Celebrates History And Supporters

Solar Cookers International  – the highly regarded, Sacramento-based humanitarian organization – is having its annual Shine On event July 10th at the Sierra 2 Center in Curtis Park. This is an exciting opportunity to mobilize and thank around 250 area residents passionate about our mission of promoting the use of solar cookers to cook food and pasteurize water for the benefit of people and environments through advocacy, humanitarian assistance, education resources and international development programs.

This is also a time to learn more about solar cooking and how to save some money and help the environment. News10 Chief Meteorologist, Monica Woods, will be the guest speaker.

Supermoon in El Dorado County

SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA - This was shot in El Dorado County California at 8:15 p.m. 5.5.12 on the Ponderosa Road overcrossing at HWY 50 (near the recent meteor explosion and meteorite dusting back on April 22, 2012).

Hoped to get it coming up over the Sierra, but it was sneaky and came up further south and higher in the sky than I wanted it to be, but still pretty. Little instant tail gate party going on with all the area folks hanging out on the overcrossing waiting for it to show up.
