Join volunteers at the Historic City Cemetery’s Rose Garden for deadheading at dusk. We will be removing spent blooms from the many rosebushes and tidying up the garden which encourages repeat blooming of the roses in the garden. Tools and training will be provided, and light refreshments will be served. The workshop is free, but donations are gratefully accepted to help support rose garden operations. Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. till dark. Call (916) 448-0811 for more info.

Saturday, April 22, 2017, 10:00a-12:00p. Join Rosarians Anita Clevenger and others to learn everything you always wanted to know about heritage roses. The class will include a fascinating lecture and tour of the rose garden. The class is free but donations are gratefully accepted and help support rose garden operations.

Come walk through pathways covered in roses while you hear tales of love in years gone-by. Costumed docents and actors will tell about how couples met and how they died, and recount legends about roses, the symbol of love. Bring somebody you love, breathe in the perfume of the roses around you, and enjoy a lovely evening in our award-winning Historic Rose Garden in the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery.
