Sacramento's Johnson to end MLB career

Sacramento's Johnson to end MLB career

SACRAMENTO, CA - Former McClatchy High School star Nick Johnson has decided to retire from Major League Baseball after a career spanning 10 seasons.

WFAN in New York was first to report.

News10 confirmed the report with Johnson, who said he is looking forward to improving his golf game.

Johnson, 34, will end a career that was riddled with various injuries, but was still a very productive player for each of his four teams. He played with the New York Yankees, Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals, Florida Marlins and most recently the Baltimore Orioles.

Johnson, a first baseman and designated hitter, was best known for his productive hitting and his tremendous knack for getting on base. He has a career .399 on-base percentage (OBP), to accompany a .268 average, 95 homers, 398 RBI and 522 walks.

Monthly Challenge: Attitude of Gratitude

Monthly Challenge: Attitude of Gratitude

We all have things to be thankful for! Sometimes at the end of a particularly challenging day, the biggest thing to be thankful for is that the day is over and you can start over the next day, lol! But truly, when you are living in "thanks",  it creates windows for more "good" to you and through you. Recognizing those around you whether it be family members or co-workers or even the person who is helping you at the store, by saying "thank you" sends out a way of positive "juju" to the universe and comes right back to you, helping you to feel better about the world and your life!

The challenge this whole month is to "give thanks" for the day, your warm bed, or the person who has helped your day be just a little bit better! Please write it in a journal, your daily planner, or better yet, share on my Facebook page, "Mama Bootcamp".

Thank you for making my world a lot better!

Harley-Davidson of Sacramento proudly presents the 19th Annual Sacramento Law Enforcement Memorial Run.

This year thousands of anticipated riders will ride from the Police and Sheriff Memorial riding along the river and roaring into the City of Isleton.

This event continues to grow as the third largest ride in Northern California, with thousands of riders coming from as far away as Arizona, Nevada, and Washington.

The run has become the primary fundraising event to enable Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento to respond and serve our law enforcement families and community members.
